AA GOLD - ZERO WASTE FASHION
Fashionable attitude, sustainable conviction and responsible use of ressources. We design fashion based on zero waste principles. Fashion with a double A - Attitude and Awareness _
| BAUSCH | Part 1
A Womenswear collection inspired by dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch. The collection is characterized by a variety of softly flowing and inventive movements as well as powerful juxtapositions of hard and soft, dark and light, rigid and smooth. AA Gold is a sustainable fashion brand from Munich. We create fashion with creative attitude and sustainable awareness.
We are AA Gold and we make sustainable fashion that goes one step further.
The Zero Waste approach has the potential to combine sustainability and design. In the
traditional production of garments, up to 20% of fabric is wasted. We start here at the beginning of the value chain by already thinking about avoiding waste in the design process and to design cutting patterns and markers that do accumulate waste. It is not about sacrifice, but about the respectful and economical use of resources.
The Garment Production
In addition to waste prevention,
it is important to us to use materials
that are of high quality and eco-certified
in Europe. Further, we work with manufacturers
who guarantee fair and respectful working
conditions. Our prototypes and samples are
all developed and implemented in Munich,
production takes place exclusively in Europe.
At AA Gold, creation and design bases on Zero Waste principles. We enjoy designing beautiful garments and fashionable clothes and feel responsible to develop along with our fashion, a production system that does not harm the environment.
Zero Waste Patterns_
In order to prevent fabric waste and fabric cut-offs it’s neccessary to interlock all needed pattern pieces like a puzzle.
In our collections we explore the aesthetics of this method and align the process of design- and product- development with principles of the Zero Waste ideology.
Zero Waste Ressources_
Using appropriate Materials is key for our design methods. All the materials used in the collections are either sustainable materials or sourced from already existing stocks.
We are working towards a circular system, in which we design for circularity, use recycled materials and re-integrate it after it’s use.
Zero Waste Techniques_
Aplying Zero Waste principle to the design proces also means to explore different techniques of Zero Waste design. This includes Knitting, exploring the potential of certain weaving techniques as well as re-purposing existing textiles and garments.
